Degrees offered on Bioscience:
Under Graduate [BSc (3- years) and BSC (ASPL) (3- years)]:
Subject(s)courses in which the candidate seeks admission are as follows- Botany, Zoolog, Biochemistry, Forensic Science, Biotechnology, Genetics, Microbiology/Environmental Science / Nutrition & Dietetics.
Eligibility: [BSc (3- years)] A pass in the two year Intermediate Examination of A.P. or +2 Examination recognized as equivalent there to and with an aggregate of 40%marks (pass percentage for SC &ST candidates) in the concerned Science subjects viz Physical Sciences & Mathematics group OR Physical Sciences & Biological Sciences, as the case may be.
[BSC (ASPL) (3- years)] A pass in the two year Intermediate Examination of A.P. or +2 Examination recognized as equivalent thereto with Physics, Chemistry, Biology OR Mathematics.
Admission Process: [BSc (3- years)] By the colleges based on merit subject to Rules of reservations prescribed therefor. [BSC (ASPL) (3- years)] Through an Entrance Test conducted by the University and subject to all other rules, regulations and reservations prescribed therefor.
Post Graduate [MSc (2- years) and MSc (ASPL) (2- years)]:
Subject(s)courses in which the candidate seeks admission are same as the subjects for the under graduate course.
Eligibility: [MSc (2- years)] A pass in the B Sc. with not less 40%marks(pass percentage for SC &ST candidates) in the concerned Science subjects viz Physical Sciences & Mathematics for MPC group OR Physical Sciences & Biological Sciences, for BZC group as the case may be. [MSc (ASPL) (2- years)] Candidates who have passed three years B.Sc. (ASLP) Degree or B. Sc. (HLS) or B. Sc. (AST) (with one year internship / 6 months internship ) examination of OU or an examination recognized as equivalent there to.
Admission Process: Through an Entrance Test conducted by the University.
Ph. D [Full Time- 3 years and Part Time- 4 years]:
Sunjects offered: Botany, Biochemistry, Genetics, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Zoology.
Eligibility: a) A candidate is eligible for registration/admission to Ph.D. course in a subject, if he/she i) holds a Mater’s degree in the concerned subject or in an allied subject (approved by Osmania University) with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. In case of students belonging to SC and ST category, the aggregate shall be 50% marks AND ii) holds M.Phil Degre in the concerned subject or in an allied subject(approved by Osmania University) OR iii) is qualified in the UGC-CSIR/NET GATE examination or SLET examination of Government of Andhra Pradesh, or awarded a Research Fellowship by UGC/CSIR/Government Organisation. OR iv) has published, as the first author, at least two research papers in the broad area of research in standard journals recognized by the University. Note: In the Faculty of Science, the criteria at
(i) above is essential qualification for registration/admission to Ph.D. in a subject and the conditions under rule(ii) to (iv) may be treated as preferable.
Selection Process: Admission through selection by the Ph.D. Admissions Committee.
